Cultivating for the Industry: Cropping Experiences with Hypericum perforatum L. in a Mediterranean Environment

چکیده
Hypericum perforatum is an intensively studied medicinal plant, and much experimental activity has been addressed to evaluate its bio-agronomical phytochemical features as far. In most cases, plant material used for purposes obtained from wild populations or, alternatively, individuals grown in vases and/or pots. When industrial purposes, the convenient option achieving satisfactory amounts of biomass field cultivation. Pot cultivation open condition, however, are likely induce different responses on plant’s metabolism, yield composition not necessarily same. To compare these management techniques, a 4-year trial (2013–2016) was performed, using three biotypes areas Italy: PFR-TN, Trento province, Trentino; PFR-SI, Siena, Tuscany; PFR-AG, Agrigento Sicily. Both managements gave scarce flower yields at first year, whereas higher were measured second year (in field), third pots). Plant ageing induced significant differences composition, total amount phenolic substances 2015 than 2014. A performance genotypes observed; local genotype generally more suitable cultivation, two non-native performed better Phytochemical profile in-pots plants always reflecting actual situation field. Consequently, when intended accurate quality checks harvested advised.

BACKGROUND Mastitis reduces milk yield and alters milk composition. Antibiotics are widely used in the treatment of the disease. However, this widespread use of antibiotics causes both antibiotic residues in milks and antibiotic resistance developed in bacteria. Today's researches are focused on discovering and using new antibiotics against bacteria. OBJECTIVE The aim of this work was to disc...

The essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of Hypericum perforatum L. and Hypericum scabrum L. from plants growing wild in Tajikistan were analyzed by GC-MS. Sixty-six compounds were identified in the essential oils of H. perforatum with germacrene D (13.7%), α-pinene (5.1%), (E)-caryophyllene (4.7%), n-dodecanol (4.5%), caryophyllene oxide (4.2%), bicyclogermacrene ...

BACKGROUND The St John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum; Clusiaceae) has been used in traditional and modern medicine for a long time due to its high content of biologically active phenolics. The purpose of this work was to develop a method for their fractionation and identification, and to determine the most active antioxidant compounds in plant extract. RESULTS An LC-MS method which enables fas...
متن کاملPhenolic Acids and Flavonoids in Hypericum Perforatum L. Hairy Roots
Investigations have been made to develop an efficient protocol for identification and quantification of phenolic acids and flavonoids in hairy roots (HR) of Hypericum perforatum L. HR were induced from root segments of in vitro grown seedlings from H. perforatum, after co-cultivation with Agrobacterium rhizogenes A4. Transgenic status of HR was confirmed by PCR analysis using rolB specific prim...
